Expanded Coverage: Endpoint Security
Starting in April SSL VPN Central is significantly expanding its coverage of endpoint security. Our decision to devote more content to this complex and rapidly evolving area of network security was driven by both market trends and the strong interest expressed by our portal users. When you visit the SSL VPN Central home page you will now see an endpoint security menu which serves as your entry point to our new and updated content. We look forward to delivering additional content, welcome your ideas and feedback, and encourage you to start with the new article, Endpoint Security Challenges.
Best Practices Column: "Leave-No-Trace" Endpoint Protection
In this month's guest column, Leave-No Trace Endpoint Protection, Greg Romania explains why device cache-cleaning is an essential element of endpoint security and why implementing this type of protection requires careful planning. It's not as simple as it might first appear. Greg is the Lead Security Analyst in the SSL/TLS VPN Lab at ICSA Labs., a certification team respected by both the Fortune 500 and security vendors.
SSL VPN Central publishes a monthly series of "best practices" columns which focus on the practical application of products, technologies and services in SSL-based access networks. Each column is written by a guest author with in-depth knowledge of security policy and solution implementations. If you have an idea for a column or wish to contribute one, submit your ideas to Dana Hendrickson.
Array Networks
The Array SPX Series SSL VPN Access Gateways are now highlighted in a new Product Spotlight on SSL VPN Central. They lead the industry in performance and capacity, providing single-digit millisecond response times and the power to handle up to 64,000 concurrent users. The Product Spotlight includes links to the white paper Array Purpose-Built SSL VPN and the Frost & Sullivan report SSL VPN New Product Directions.
Citrix Systems
We invite you to visit the Citrix Secure Access Gateway Product Spotlight on SSL VPN Central. Citrix's gateway relies on a single web-downloadable client to securely replicate the "LAN desktop experience" for remote users of Windows devices. And this gateway delivers important features rarely found on other SSL VPN gateways. The Citrix Product Spotlight includes links to the white paper Melding Together the Best of IPSEC and SSL VPNS and a Gartner archived webcast where analyst John E. Girad discusses remote access trends and reviews the Gartner SSL VPN Magic Quadrant, a vendor analysis.
F5 Networks
We invite you to visit the SSL VPN Gateway Product Selection Guide to learn about the F5's FirePass SSL VPN appliance. According to Synergy Research Group, the FirePass SSL VPN appliance is now the 2nd best-selling SSL VPN gateway based on worldwide revenue and is rapidly reducing the lead historically enjoyed by Juniper Networks.
