Vendor Directory - Network Admission Control
The latest generation of network admission control (NAC) products combine several distinct security functions into a single vendor solution. All check endpoints for compliance with centrally defined security policies, e.g., software, patches, signatures, etc.; adjust user privileges based on what is found; assist users in correcting compliance problems; and provide ways for administrators to monitor this activity - either in real-time or via audit files. NAC access control points can be switches, routers, VPN concentrators and secure access gateways (e.g. SSL VPN or hybrid VPN gateways). Some NAC products offer role-based access control at the level of individual applications and network servers and a few are being marketed as Identity and Network Access control appliances.
