Symantec Clientless VPN Gateway (SCVG) Appliance
"The Symantec SSL VPN gateway is a very capable and attractively
priced solution. It is not as feature-rich as higher priced systems
but will easily satisfy the requirements of small and mid-size
organizations that seek the comfort of working with a successful
and well-regarded global vendor. Today the SCVG complements Symantec's
other perimeter security product, the Symantec Gateway Security
Appliance (SGSA). Symantec has already announced its plan to integrate
SCVG and SGSA features into a single platform. This action will
greatly improve the appeal of the Symantec SSL VPN Gateway solution.
Additional features will include: an integrated application-level
firewall, protocol anomaly-based intrusion prevention and intrusion
detection engines, award-winning virus protection, URL-based content
filtering, anti-spam, and IPSec-compliant virtual private networking
technology with hardware-assisted high-speed encryption. Organizations
that buy either product have been promised an affordable upgrade
path to this integrated system."
